SKIN CARE DUPE??????????

Well....i know its not possible to compare two different skincare products and say that they are the same. But I gotta do this!!! 'Coz I always think of this whenever I am putting either of these products on my face and to be honest I love both of them fiercely and if u ask me which one will I choose ...then I don't know. But here goes....

I want to say that CLINIQUE dramatically different moisturising gel & FAB INDIA vitamin e skin hydrating cream works the same!!!!!!!!! Did I hear a "WHAT THE F*** YOU TALKIN ABOUT ANJU"?????? ya I know but sadly its true. I suffer from extremely oily skin and I have tried lot of mositurisers and the winner for me was the CLINIQUE one and now......I am getting the same result from another brand which is so often overlooked by a lot of ppl and that would be FAB INDIA'S cream.

Ingredients in Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel

Water Purified, Dimethicone, Isododecane, Butylene Glycol, Bis-Peg-18 Methylether, Dimethyl Silane, Glycerin, Laminaria Saccharina Extract, Saccharomyces Lysate Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake, Caffeine, Trehalose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria), Polysilicone-11, Silica, Propylene Glycol Dicaprate, Oleth-10, Laureth-23, Laureth-4, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp Copolymer, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Disodium-Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Yellow 5, Red 4, Yellow 6

That's quite a lot huh?

Ingredients in FAB INDIA Vitamin E Skin Hydrating Cream

Water, Aloevera extract, Jojoba oil, Grapeseed extract, Lactic acid, Vitamin E Acetate

Mostly natural ingredients

My Verdict:- Both have the same gel like consistency . In my opinion I think the Fab INDIA one is more watery than the clinique one. Gel has a pink color (fab india) & yellow for(clinique). The fab india has a pleasant smell but clinique has no smell at all. Both works as a great primer for makeup and they do control the oilies for oily skin and hydrate very well. They act the same way on my skin and my skin loves them both and I don't think it feels much of a difference except maybe for my wallet :D.

The clinique one costs more than 1000/- & fab india costs about 200/-

Please don't think I have compared two skin care products b'coz someone has asked me to...NO. This is my honest opinion and I wanted to share my views as I use them both and there might be a lot of people out there wanting to buy the Clinique moisturiser but can't afford it. So a better option would be this 'coz I personally feel they perform the same on oily skin.

So which one is it gonna be?????

Interesting...

But you know FAB India never gives out the total ingredient list, they generally give a very selective one, where they leave out all chemically sounding names.

The 2 pdrts have no matching ingredients at all, other than water, so actually I am a little lost here on how they are dupes.

But I am glad they both work equally well for you, and I am sure oily-skinned gals will find this info useful, when planning their skincare purchases :)

i have never tried this Fabindia vit e cream, can it make up for my tinted moisturiser need in any which ways...

@anamika:- even i love the product so much eventhough its a new find
@tanveer:- just as i mentioned in the post...I am not claiming that they have the same ingredients or watsoever...i just want to pint it out to oily or combination skinned ppl like myself that both these work in the same way for me. so if anyone wants to splurge on clinique they r most welcome coz the product delivers but if they want summin cheap that does give the same effect then try fab india. am happy with both :)

@rentu:- no yaar, this is not tinted. it is a really good moisturiser for oily skin and keeps the skin from becoming oily for a long time. i have never tried this with foundation...so cant really comment on that

Wow Anju! Thats really awesome! Thanks for informing us coz a lot of people (like me) will never ever spend so much money to buy clinique! now i can happily buy fab india :)

oh ok...i think i will still buy it, its much cheaper on the pocket

@poohkie:-glad to be of help but lemme point out to u that maybe clinique being a high end brand might have better ingredients(am no expert in that). But performance wise on my skin both feels the same. Please use both the products at ur own discretion(am being way too cautious as its skincare product) :)

Ohh ok, my fault, I missed that part..

Good then ya, that you guys have such an awesome substitute in Fab india that won't pinch the pocket at all.. Now only if someone cld find something similar for those richer body shop creams that we dry skin ppl use :)

indianmakeupways said...

@tanveer:- hey maybe i will find summin ...'coz as weird as it might sound to u....i have really dry skin except for my face :O totally weird huh? I know! so maybe I can find summin similar(not facial moisturiser) but as a general moisturiser for total body :)

Oooh its funny because I actually have that Clinique product at home because I got it in a gift package! I have never used it because I'm nervous about using facial products. Every time I do, I end up breaking out. :( Which is sad because I'm at the age where I need to start using moisturizer daily. Sigh.

Do you recommend any good moisturizers? I have pretty normal skin. Not oily or dry...I just need to try out a couple, I guess, and see what works for me...hmmm...

No problems I understand that everyone has to be cautious. I am too, so don't worry :)

@jennifer:- I think for normal skin...any good moisturiser works......just go for something natural if u r prone to breakouts...but I think u can definitely try some natural products. I think products from liz earle will be good
