JOJOBA OIL

Its pronounced as the "HO-HO-BA" oil. I had read great many reviews and articles about this oil as to how good it is for the skin and hair. Finally i thought i would give it a try. The oil has somewhat same quality as the human sebum and becoz of that it can trick our skin into believing that its producing enough oil thereby reducing the oil slick that mounts up on one's face as the day goes by. I have extremely oily skin and no matter what i try (cleanse, tone, moisturise) the whole hoopla .........i still end up with the oilies and as a matter of fact am soooooooooo veryyyyy tired seeing my face dark and dull most of the time.

So in the end i mustered up the courage to put oil on my oily face(biggest mistake???????) and waited for my face to turn super oily. But to my pleasant surprise my face did not turn super oily and inturn the oil production was curbed to a good extent. I would not say 100% and i don't expect that either coz there is no way i can control my oily skin. But this oil did help me and is helping me quite a bit. I religiously use it now.

The product that i use comes in a small bottle. It contains 5 ml of the product. It is provided with a dropper. The product itself is very runny and not the typical oil stuff. I bought it from a medical store and it wasn't costly at all.

How i apply it:- I take the dropper provided along with the product and put one drop of oil in my palm and rub it with both my palms and then apply it on to my face and i make sure that it doesn't leave an oily residue and that the whole thing gets absorbed super fast. After that i proceed with my moisturising routine.

Will i repurchase it??? Yes ofcourse as long as it helps with my oily skin i definitely will.

So oily skinned ppl like me can give this product a try and do let me know as to whether this works for you or not. ciao.....

hey!
I came across your blog quite accidentally....I just graduated from medical school in Russia and I'm currently doing my internship....I have an extremely oily face too so I found your quest for mattifying products really useful!! :)...I saw a video on YT in which the woman uses Milk of Magnesia to curb the oiliness of her face....after moisturizing u need just a tiny amount....I've tried it and it keeps the oil away for like 4-5 hrs!
Also I wanted to ask what moisturizer do you use and if you could do a post on your skin care regime..thanks a lot!!..take care

hey thanks for takin time out to comment.. i have used milk of magnesia but it dried my face out like crazy and developed flakes. So now i stay away from those things.i use murad mattifying moisturiser and some times i use vichy pro matt. those products r good and i will be reviewing them soon. hope to see you more in my blog. byeeeeee

no the DR.URJITA JAIN one. I've heard a lot of people talk about it, but I think its available only in maharashtra. I believe the brand also sells essential oils for a very reasonable amount.

medical store? why didn't i think of that?! will definitely try there.

also I had no idea it was supposed to be cheap. I assumed these all will be exp coz maybe they're not produced in india.

indianmakeupways said...

ya i think they do sell a lot more essential oils...i remember seeing tulsi oil.hey lotsa brands do hav jojoba oil and i came across this particular brand by sheer accident and i am really glad tat i did....coz am still using it and it definitely is giving my skin a glow even with no makeup

Hey Thanx a ton for your advice !! Really appreciate your prompt response .. Ok i shall try looking for it at supermarkets and chemists.. But my only worry is that i don't know that the oil that i'll get will be organic/pure or not .. Nonetheless, i'll give it a try! Thanks again! Also this is a recommendation i got from eye specialist that a ointment called "Prorac" is very good and effective for dark circles, thought to share it with you as may help the fellow bloggers. :)

indianmakeupways said...

@milind:-hi milind, thanks for the comment. i purchased this oil (this particular brand ) from a chemist shop in colaba market. i dont exactly remember the name of the shop. but u r rt, its hard to find this coz when i asked for this oil, one person from the shop said he has no idea and there was one another guy nearby, who thankfully had some idea abt wat i was asking for and took this bottle out for me. if they say its not available, ask them for the "essential oils" availability. mostly, this product will be kept in that rack(atleast in my case it was like that). so, happy hunting.:)
