Hi all, I have received several requests from my dear readers to talk about my "hair care" routine. Honestly, my hair is not that super great. I have chemically treated my hair thrice and thereby causing it a lot of damage. I started taking care of my hair only after the damage was done! :(. Being a keralite I am naturally blessed with good hair and maintaining that is the only issue. So, now, let me put my hair care regime in steps so that its easy to understand.
1) Preconditioning:-
This step is a MUST in my list. My hair responds to oils really well and earlier I used to use coconut oil( which is the best for my hair) and occasionally olive oil( to give the deep conditioning effect). It makes my hair ready for the next step and that is shampooing and thereby doesn't strip my hair of its natural oils either. Nowadays I am using a new product that has hit the Kerala market and it is called Indulekha Gold Hair Care Oil. I will be reviewing it soon, as it requires 3 months of regular usage for me to see significant results. But I definitely have noticed that it gives my hair immense shine, manageability, less frizziness and plus no dandruff!!!!!
2)Shampoo & Conditioning:-
I use a lot of shampoos and conditioners as I buy a lot of 'em, but my favourite is Dove shampoo and conditioners. My hair responds to Dove products really well. I always end up purchasing Dove and using it. Nowadays I am using Dove Intense Repair shampoos and conditioners.
This is the shampoo and conditioner that I am using right now and I totally love it.
3) Deep Conditioning
Its a very important step in my weekly hair care. As I mentioned before, my hair is damaged from all the chemical treatments, so I make it a point to use deep conditioners every week. It definitely makes a huge difference.
These two are the masks that I am using currently which is giving me excellent results. I have already given a review about Macadamia and will be posting about the Osmo mask soon which is also really good. Both these products were purchased online and my other favourites are the Dove deep conditioning mask and The Body Shop Deep conditioning mask.
4)Hair Serum
Right now I am using 2 different products and they are from Macadamia & J.F Lazartigue. I am in love with both and would definitely ask everyone to try it out.
Both these serums do not weigh my hair down and gives it immense shine and smoothness. But, my hair prefers the J.F Lazartigue serum more as it just sinks into my hair without leaving any residue whatsoever.
5) Clarifying Shampoo:-
When you use a multitude of products on your hair it is very important to use a clarifying shampoo to clear your hair off all the residue that is left by the other products. By doing this step, your hair will get back to the normal stage and will be able to reciprocate to products in the most optimum way possible. I use a clarifying shampoo every week. Earlier I used to use the St.Ives one, but now I use the Redken Clarifying shampoo which has this amazing green tea smell and it leaves my hair squeaky clean. Do not ever forget to use a deep conditioning mask after using a clarifying shampoo as it strips off everything including moisture from your hair.
6)Styling
Before you style your hair by subjecting it to heat please always use a heat protectant. I used to use the Toni & Guy styling spray but now I use the tresemme spray which is simply awesome! I love the smell and it makes my hair really soft and does not give it any "hold" which was an issue with Toni & Guy for me.
After styling my hair, because of the humidity in my country and 'coz of the nature of my hair it gets frizzy really fast and it was a problem till I found this baby!!!!
Tigi Bed Head Spoil Me Hair Spray
This Spray gives my hair immense shine, flexibility and it controls the frizzies like crazy!!!! Its a must have in my list and I love it to itsy bitsy pieces :)
So, this is my hair care routine and this might seem a lot for some, but I love my hair too much to see it go kaput as I damaged my hair with all the straightening & smoothening stuff that I did way earlier.
This is just an outline and products that suit me may not suit you, so please find the appropriate products that will suit your hair needs. If you guys have anything more to recommend then do leave a comment.

@SSG:-I think neutrogena has one and most of the big brands have clarifying shampoos. But honestly I have not seen any generic brands in india carrying a clarifying shampoo which is sad.
Nice! Thanks for this! The products you mentioned for frizziness are something i definitely want to try... Currently herbal essence shampoos and conditioners work really well for my hair but its still not as frizz-free as i want to be...
