MAYBELLINE DREAM MATTE POWDER

I bought this product after reading a lot of good reviews about this powder. I do love this but I am not a huge fan. Read on to find out more.

I do like the packaging, but I do feel that there is a good chance that it might break if it accidentally gets dropped. So be careful when handling this.

The color is NOT a match for me. This is the darkest shade that I found and I purchased this 'coz it doesn't give an ashy appearance to my face.

The mirror is placed underneath the powder and you will have to twist it to the side to get the mirror out. It also has a powder puff along with it and I don't use it as I love my makeup brushes to do the work for me.

The color that I bought is "Honey". Its a very fine milled powder and I have been using it for a month now eventhough it looks as though I haven't used this at all. As its not my correct shade I use only a very small amount on my face just to control the oil. Its a good setting powder for combination-oily skin and not amazing for "very oily" skin and mine falls in the very oily category. So, I like it, as it controls oil to some extent but am not a huge fan. It applies really smooth and I have not experienced any sensitivity issues so far. The product does not add any "extra oil" to the skin.Overall its an OK purchase for me and I would recommend this to ladies with combination & oily skin.

Price:-500 Rs

Con:-Not many shades available.

SECHE VITE POLISH THINNER & PROFESSIONAL SIZE REFILL BOTTLE

I am a huge huge huggggggggeeeeeeee fan of Seche Vite Top Coat. Its the most amazing top coat ever. Its my Holy Grail!!! I have already reviewed it HERE. I am currently running out of my top coat and decided to purchase another one and I bought this from ebay and plz check it and you will find a number of sellers selling this there.

It also has a funnel along with it and its a dream come true(ok ok....am becoming a bit dramatic lol) for a seche vite fan and now I don't ever have to run out of my favourite top coat!!!! EVER :) :D

Everyone complains of Seche Vite having a tendency to get thick really fast inside the bottle, so there are special Seche Vite polish thinners that help you in that and I too face the same problem and as its my fav top coat I didn't mind shelling out a couple of extra bucks to rope in the thinner!!!

The thinner is called Seche Vite "Restore". A couple of drops does the trick and the top coat gets back to its normal consistency. This is a must have in your arsenal if you love Seche Vite top coat. You can also restore your other polishes by mixing a few drops of these and its back to normal like MAGIC!!! :D

So is anyone a fan of Seche Vite top coat?????????

BURT'S BEES LEMON BUTTER CUTICLE CREAM

I bought this because I wanted a decent cuticle cream and I have used the body shop almond oil and it did not do anything to my cuticles. So, I decided to check this one out and I am glad that I did. This product is amazing!!!!

What it is:-

Give your needy nails a helping hand. Nourish and moisturise nails and cuticles with this intensive, natural treatment. A touch of lemon oil makes your nails smell incredibly clean, healthy and beautiful, naturally.

100% Natural

Its an 8.5 gm tub and is one of their best selling products. It has a real lemony smell and I loveeeeeeee it.

It has a pale yellow color and is a bit waxy-creamy texture. I apply it nightly on to my cuticles and leave it overnight. Only a small amount is needed and I have been using this for a month and I can very well see the difference. My cuticles are soft and well behaved and I would most definitely repurchase this again and again & again!!!!

MAYBELLINE BB CREAM

BB Cream is a Korean concept. It is a cream(read lighter than a foundation &  better than tinted moisturiser) that blends into the skin and covers all the imperfections and is also supposed to heal your skin too. Its quite a rage in most of the Asian countries and has crossed over to the western countries. Now, Maybelline has come up with a BB cream and when I saw it I just had to purchase it.

Shades available:- Nude, Radiance & Natural. I opted for the "nude" shade.

BB cream actually stands for Blemish Balm, but Maybelline has changed it to Bright Benefit cream. I love the packaging and the tube is really small.

The tube packaging is really nice as its hygienic. All you need is a very small amount of product.

What all it does can be read from the pic above.

Its definitely NOT my shade but this was the closest I could find among the 3 shades available. It is a beige color and has a pink undertone to it and I have a yellow undertone.

After blending it out. Its as though there is nothing there!!! Thats exactly the problem. I put this on my face and I give it 5/5 for blending in abilities. At the same time it does not provide any coverage nor does it give any sort of glow to my face. It doesn't do any harm and doesn't do any good either. Its easily blendable and is ok even  for very oily skin like mine. It has spf 21 which is a huge +++. The product is very light and not very oily either. It has a very slight but pleasant fragrance. It has a tendency to cling to patchy surfaces. I have a very oily skin so I don't put moisturiser before applying this instead I spray some SKINDINAVIA finishing spray which takes care of the flakies without adding any extra shine.

This BB cream has a lot of good reviews from other bloggers so if you are interested in purchasing this, please go through their reviews too.

 Price:- 199 for 18ml.

MOROCCAN OIL TREATMENT

I rediscovered this product around 3 weeks back and once again I am loving this. This was a huge rage around 3 years back & I am sure its still a rage but Macadamia has also come up with an oil to give the Moroccan oil some competition :).

I love the amber colored glass bottle which I think is made that way so that the oil is protected from light. If you look closely you can see that I have already used up half of the oil. But I didn't finish all that up just now. I used up a huge share of the oil the first time I got it.

As its made of glass I wouldn't say that it is travel friendly. :(

Directions for use:-

I really did get all those results around 2 years back when I used it, then it slowly stopped giving me the "excellent" results. It then started behaving like a common oil and really weighed my hair down and it was awful.

The color of the oil is yellow and is quite thick. Make sure that you put most of it on to the mid lengths & ends of your hair. If you have any left then use it on your head avoiding the roots otherwise it will weigh your hair down. It is best suited for hair that lacks moisture or hair that has undergone any sort of chemical treatment. It cuts down the frizzies & flyaways on your hair & makes it shiny and bouncy. A large bottle will last a very long time.

If your hair is on the normal side then I don't think it is needed that much. The same thing happened to my hair, once my hair started behaving normally this oil just became another oil and that is how I stopped using it. I again took this out as I figured my hair could use some extra moisture.

Overall I do like it, but the next time if I buy this I will opt for a small bottle as I will only be using it for a limited period of time, that is till my hair regains its normalcy.

MAX FACTOR FALSE LASH EFFECT FUSION MASCARA

False lash "fusion" effect huh? Max factor sure has given a nice name to the mascara. I bought this out of sheer curiosity, I am happy with my Maybelline Colossal volume mascara that gives me fuller looking lashes but it tends to give a clumpy look sometimes, so I decided to try something new and that is how I came across this mascara.

I like the chunky looking packaging. One can use this as a weapon if necessary lol.

Look at the huge wand. It has really small spikes that helps to coat an even amount of mascara to the lashes. This mascara promises to give Volume & Length to the lashes and hence the name "fusion". Lets put it to test shall we???

Oh my god! I am practically lashless! Anyway my lashes before applying the mascara. Do notice that my lashes are stick straight and a bit droopy.

After applying 2 coats of mascara to the upper lashes. It does lengthen my lashes.....but volume ...yes....but I am not completely impressed

With 3 coats of mascara to the upper lashes and 1 coat mascara to the bottom lashes. Hmmmm I do like the overall lengthening and voluminous look that it gives to my lashes. Do remember that I am practically lashless. It also gives a curling effect to my lashes that I am loving. The formula of the mascara is pretty good and gives me a smooth application. It coats the lashes individually and also coats my lower eye lashes nicely and does not give me "spider" like lashes. The formula doesn't clump and doesn't flake. But this formula is NOT waterproof. I never buy waterproof mascaras as it does something really weird to my lashes...I can't explain it. So I always stick to the non-waterproof formula.

I have been using this mascara for the past 2 months and I love it. It gives my eyes a clump free lash look. Its my go to mascara nowadays. What do you guys think???

The price for the mascara is 610 Rs.

I bought this mascara from a nearby Maxfactor counter but you can find the same Mascara HERE

So, what is your favourite Maxfactor Mascara or any mascara that gives volume??? Do share :)

TAGGED!!!!

I was tagged by the lovely blogger Pavani Reddy. She has an amazing blog called "Megaliving".She blogs about a lot of things and not just beauty, so anyone can read her blog and find something that is interesting to them. She is a fellow doc, so hi thereeeeee :D. Do check out her fab blog HERE

Without further adieu lets jump into the tag :)

Rule#1: Put the rules on your blog.
Rule#2: Every person who is tagged in this activity should tell 11 things about themselves, then answer the questions asked by the person who tagged you, then tag 11 other people and ask them 11 different questions.
Rule#3: Let the people whom you tagged know you've done so.
Rule#4: Don't tag anyone who's been tagged before.
Rule#5: Really do tag 11 others, don't go all ''if you want to take this tag''

So the rules said above are the ones to follow but am much too lazy to make up new questions and actually Pavani has made up some amazing questions so I am going to leave it at that and I leave this tag open, so that anyone who likes the tag is welcome to do it. Ok.....Lets begin

11 Random things about myself

I love my blog but at times I feel much too lazy to put up any blog posts :(

I am a really good listener & I don't gossip much

I  love watching youtube as if I am watching TV!

I love the kardashian show and Khloe is my fav Kardashian :D

I love perfumes and I have quite a collection

I am an avid reader & read just about anything and everything

When  I planned to start a blog this wasn't the kind of blog that I wanted to start...but this just happened

I have a huge teddy bear named "boo-boo" given to me as a gift by my hubby. I loooveeeeee him :)

I believe in Astrology & Horoscope but not to the level of being superstitious

I am currently undergoing treatment for my low back pain which is causing me a lot of trouble

I tend to procrastinate things a lot and nowadays am trying not to.

So that was 11 random things about myself. Now, lets get into the questions that Pavani has for me :)

1.      Do you love makeup? If yes why??

Yes I do. I feel makeup gives a certain amount of confidence to a lady which helps her to feel extra special & ready to conquer the world....well, atleast her work place :D.

 2.      Your opinion on astrology and horoscope matching during indian weddings???

If it doesn't border on the level of being superstitious........I am quite Ok with it. It has worked for so long and I personally do believe that there are some things that science can't explain.

3.      Your place of choice for settling India/U.S.A/other foreign country??why

I want to settle here. I have my roots here, my diagnostic setup here and I love being around people I know. I would love to visit foreign countries.....but when it comes to settling down "Yeh  dil hai hindustani" :D

 4.      Shoes/bags/clothes??why?

Bags Bags and more Bags!!!! I don't know I just feel that it is such a great accessory or a style statement nowadays to have a chic bag to complete you. My biggest aim is to buy a Chanel bag all by myself. I will definitely keep on blogging about it once I purchase it lol

5.      Your style mantra?

Do not try to copycat what someone else is doing. What works for them may not work for you. I also try to wear clothes according to my region 'coz its just not practical to wear sleeveless tops and low cut shirts and with lots of accessories when you are walking down the street in Kerala. So, when I am here my style is quite muted.

 6.      What do you like, love, lust the most in this world??

To have gorgeous skin & hair (isnt that everyone's wish??????)

7.      One makeup tip/beauty tip you swear by??

Try to get your blackheads removed with gelatin. I have done a post about it. It works amazingly well and you wouldn't have to spend a lot of money trying to find a good blackhead eliminating product. Click HERE

 8.      Your choice of colour for your bridal saree/lehenga?why?

My choice was deep chilli red color saree simply 'coz the color suits me really well and I knew I would look pretty in that :D

9     do you have a budget for your makeup???
Sadly NO! I am very bad in that aspect, I have to control my spending urges :(

10 Your favourite foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, lipstick, lipgloss, kajal, mascara, brushes (did I forget something,no I guess hehe)

 Foundation:- Nars Sheer matte
 Concealer :- still searching!!!
Blush:- La femme blushes they are highly pigmented and not costly at all
Bronzer:- I am quite tan, So, I never use any
Lipstick:- Maybelline colorsensational & Revlon Colorburst lipsticks
Lipgloss:- I love mac lipglosses and maybelline & revlon has nice ones too
 Kajal :- Mac Smolder
Mascara:- Max factor false lash effect, Maybelline colossal volume
 Brushes:- Mac & Sigma brushes

 11. Your heart jumps with joy for??? aches when you??? why
My heart jumps with joy when I see my hubby after a long time (he is in the navy so he goes away for long sailings at a stretch) and also when I am with people that I love.

Aches when people make up lies about me.

So that was my tag. I really enjoyed doing this and I hope you guys had fun reading it. Anyway take care you guys........

BRITNEY SPEAR'S MIDNIGHT FANTASY PERFUME

Britney Spear's is one of the few celebrities that have come up with perfumes that were really successful. I have always wanted the "Fantasy" perfume but finally got my hands on the "Midnight Fantasy".

Look at the magnificent blue bottle. Doesn't it look like one of disney's bottles containing some magic potion????? I give an absolute 10/10 for the bottle designing. Its this deep blue bottle that looks absolutely freaking stunning on your vanity.

It has these gorgeous rhinestones on it that simply looks amazing!

I love the beautiful detailing that it has on top.

 The Notes of this perfume

Top Notes:- Black cherry, Framboise, Plum
Middle Note:- Night blooming orchid, Iris, Freesia
Base Notes:-Amber, Musk, Vanilla

This bottle contains 50 ml of juice. This is her fourth fragrance & I personally feel that it is targeted towards a younger audience. This is a top seller amongst her perfumes eventhough some people totally hate it( am not one among them :D )

I think they have it in 2 sizes 50 & 100 ml bottles.

It is a really sweet- syrupy smell.....almost candyish to me. I can see younger ladies wearing it and also school girls too. But, I do can see a grown woman wearing it coz I wear it all the time :)

Application:- It just needs a spray on the chest area and on both my wrists. Don't wear too much as it can get a bit cloying if you do that.

Smell at first:- It is very sweet smelling, very girly at first and just dies down to a very nice vanilla smell(in my opinion)

Longevity:- It lasts for 5-6 hrs max and after that it just dies down a little bit

Fetching Compliments:- Yes! mainly from the younger audience. I have had girls ask me what I am wearing.

When to wear it:- If I go for shopping or a day out with my girl friends. Its not a smell that I would personally wear on a night out with my hubby....its not that sophisticated enough

Is it a gift material:- Yup! if you have nieces or friends between the age of 12-20 its a great gift for 'em.

Why would you hate this:- Too sweet & a bit cloying at times

Personally this is definitely one of my favs but this is NOT something that I would say as a signature scent.

So, that is my short review on the Midnight Fantasy & I hope you guys liked it. Do you own this perfume and if you do....what's your thoughts on it?

SUNSILK KERATINOLOGY SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

Sunsilk is my favourite hair brand that suits my hair after dove. Most of the sunsilk shampoos suit my hair really well and when they launched this new range I just had to try it!

 So what is it:-

Sunsilk launched its first ever advanced premium hair care range, Keratinology, its breakthrough in hair care innovation. Keratinology by Sunsilk is specially designed and tested to harness the power of Keratin Micro Technology, to prolong the beauty of salon-treated hair. It has two ranges, Advanced Reconstruction Program and Sun Kissed Colour Therapy. The Advanced Reconstruction Program has been tested to recover up to one year of accumulated hair damage, compared to a non-conditioning shampoo in just 5 days. The Sun Kissed Colour Therapy protects coloured hair and luminous hair colour is retained for longer.

I bought the advanced reconstruction program shampoo & conditioner. These shampoos are meant to prolong the effect of "salon" treated hair. The last time I had starightened my hair was some 3 years ago, so this shampoo does not exactly fit into my needs but hey my hair does need the extra moisture, so, I went ahead and bought it from my local beauty supply store.

Ihave been using these 2 products for the past one month and I now think I can give a really good review about these two.

Both shampoo and conditioner retails for 200 Rs each for 200 ml of product. The shampoo stands up straight and the conditioner has to be placed upside down (well, its a minute detail that I just wanted to include).

Its not that easy to identify between the shampoo & conditioner as they have the same sleek looking packaging and they both are same lengthwise too. But, their caps differ in color. One is black(shampoo) and the other is beige(conditioner)

The shampoo lathers up really nice and a lil bit goes a long way. It leaves the hair very nice and hydrated and I love the smell too. Its called a "de"-toxifying shampoo, so I think if you go overboard with it, it can end up stripping your hair. The conditioner is not too thick and gooey but, just the right consistency and leaves the hair really silky and smooth. Make sure you don't use too much conditioner as it can flatten the hair if you have thin hair. The question is has it reversed the damage on my hair.......hmmmmmm.....well, I don't know....as of now my hair looks better than before, but, I don't know what will happen once I stop using it. I think this range is best for dry, parched, moisture hungry or salon treated hair. If you have normal hair..........well, you can use it but it is sure not a "necessary' item in your shower.

you can check these products out HERE
