 I love the name of this polish."Violine Chic", so bohemian......overall the polish is pretty good. A really deep purple with super glossy finish and really very glam lookin. But for me to achieve this super purple look I had to do 4 coats and the nail polish is a bit runny and a lil bit clumpy too. So if you are not careful while applying, it can create a mess(don't know whether I got a bad bottle or not...hmmmmm).Anyway here it is and enjoy the pics :)

 I created a purple smokey eye and toned down my lips to balance it out. I used brown instead of black on crease to keep the look minimal rather than too dark and intense. Do gimme ur feedback and hope u all like the look.

 I have never done a movie review before on this blog, so, let this be the first one. The valentine's day is just 2 days away and what mood are you in????Are you happy???? and feeling hopelessly romatic and sappy to the core???? or did you break up with someone and feeling down in the dumps?????Not to worry, am going to review two movies here today for both the groups and I hope you enjoy my review and also the movies... :)

Let's start with the HAPPY one...

THE LOST VALENTINE........

 This is a Hallmark Original Movie and centers around a Navy wife Caroline thomas(Betty White) and a television journalist Susan allison (Jennifer Love Hewitt).The main protagonist bids goodbye to her naval aviator husband on valentine's day as he has to report for duty during world war II.They make a promise to each other to be reunited no matter what and sadly the husband goes missing in action and the pregnant wife is left all alone.Every year on valentine's day the now old wife visits the railway station to keep her end of the promise and waits for her husband to return.At this point enters the tv journalist Allison, who is cynical about love and all things surrounding it to cover this woman's story and let me not say anything further, lest it might become a spoiler.


Its one of those original Hallmark tearjerker that actually pulls at your heart strings and finally is a feel good movie for all those who love the ultra romantic movies :)


Moving on to the next review, BLUE VALENTINE..........

Starring the droolworthy Ryan Gosling(of Notebook fame) and Michelle Williams this movie tells you the story "after" two people falls in love and gets married. This movie shifts between the present and past lives of the main protagonists from the time they fall in love and finally moves to the inevitable "D" word. In a last attempt to save their already failed marriage Dean(Ryan Gosling) books a room at a cheap motel to spend some quality time with his wife Cindy(Michelle Williams) where the audience comes to understand as to where this is all going to lead. This movie is a very dark one that points towards the ugly reality of "I Do's & Forever's". This movie is not for everyone...but I for one, thoroughly enjoyed the movie as reality does bite how much ever you try to deny it.


So these are my movie picks for this Valentine's day and which one would you opt for????????  :)



 

LUSH, ITS RAINING MEN.....

 Everyone is posting about the "Lush" Valentine's day collections and I actually got hold of one of the limited editions and that is the "Its Raining Men" shower gel. Its the shower gel version of their cult hit "Honey I Washed The Kids" soap.

I am a huge fan of the soap and when I saw the shower gel....I couldn't keep my hands off it. Am actually using it daily and I smell of honey and all things girly :)

 Pros:-
Easy to use shower gel form of the soap that we all love
Lathers really well
Smells heavenly(but my hubby complained that it smells like jaggery rather than honey....and he is someone who loveeessss using shower gels but steered clear from this one)
A lil goes a long way, so it will last for sometime
A shelf life of 2yrs
Makes showering a great experience :) (I love love love the smell)

Cons:-
Limited edition
Men may not enjoy the smell too much

Cost:-1100 rs/-(for 250 gms)

NOTD COLORESSENCE

This is a new line from the nature's essence brand and the makeup line is under the name coloressence. I saw their lipsticks, lipliners and nailpolishes(n/p). Didn't buy the other two as the SA didn't have any testers with her. Its decently priced and am pretty much OK with the n/p that I purchased.

Pros:-
Available easily
Affordable (55/- Rs)
Dries really fast
No bad n/p smell
Nice glossy finish

Cons:-
The applicator brush is a bit thin, not big enough to cover whole area in one swipe
The color I chose was really sheer, so I had to put 4 coats to get the desired result

Overall its an OK n/p and I might buy another color from the line as its pretty cheap and there is no obvious irritating n/p smell which I hate!!!! Anyone of you guys tried this????

MAC VIVA GLAM CYNDI

 I know am very very late with this post but what to do??? I got this lippie only a month back! I have wanted this for a long time and wherever I went this was sold out(naturally! as it got released in early 2010) and thankfully one mac store had it and I grabbed it with both hands!!!

 This lipstick comes in the "lusture" variety, so its really moisturising and I totally love this one. This shade can be worn dramatically or with a light hand. Both ways, this one looks awesome.

 The shade  is a reddish pink with a bit of coral to it(it shows up that way on my lips) and normally coral colors don't suit me but this one does eventhough the pink/red is more prominent.

With Flash....

Without Flash.....

 Pros:-
Great shade
Really moisturising.
Remains on my lips for 2-3 hrs
My 'go - to' shade when I want to look glam! ;)

Cons:-
Limited edition!!!!! :(

 Overall this is a great shade and once I use this up....will definitely look for a similar shade in mac :)
Cost:-950/-(I think......)

FINALLY BACK HOME!!!!

 So am finally now back at home and I feel so relaxed and pampered!!!! BLISS!!! lol. I miss mumbai and mostly my hubby, but it feels good to be back and have mom's food once more :)


 I also want to thank Sonali from Asian Beautifier who had conducted a makeup contest way back in 2010 and I got the second prize for that. She did send me the prize promptly but I never saw them as I gave her my home address and today I saw the lovely package!!! Thanks so much Sonali for the wonderful stuff you sent me!!! I know am late to acknowledge, but the fact is I am returning home only now after a long hiatus. Well... as they say better late than never!!! :D
